Per Article 43 section 2 of the Act of 29 June 1995 on Public Statistics ( Journal of Laws of 2020, item 443, as amended), since July 1, 2011, access to data on the Central Statistical Office website is equivalent to confirming the entry of this information in the REGON register. The service "Access to REGON registration data through the web service - API interfaces" (BIR1 - REGON 1 Internet database) is a network service that provides data from the REGON register to authorized government administration bodies and local government units and other government institutions (per Article44 of the Act on Public Statistics) and commercial entities. The service programming interface (API) allows you to search the REGON register resources according to selected criteria as well as download and display the results directly at the level of recipients' ICT systems.

Searching the REGON register resources is possible using the following criteria:

• REGON ID
• NIP identifier • KRS ID
